Time to take a look back at some of the different styles and trends that lined the streets of Montreal last year.
Oriental Flare: Beautiful silk floral fabrics, Mandarin shirt collars and classic buttons used on everything from handbags to dresses. Chinese slippers were all the rage in classic black and beige with floral sequin details. Large obi belts and sashes dressed up a pair of jeans and the chopstick made a come back as the perfect hair accessory.
Military: Cargo and surplus gear in shades of kaki and beige with pockets, loops, ties and zips. A cute pair of pumps or stiletto boots for a feminine touch. Mesh tanks and shirts, cargo skirts and chains.
Retro/Vintage: 1950-1970 inspired looks. Thrift shop finds, printed tees, furs, flapper style dresses, trucker caps.
Punk/80ís: Off the shoulder tops, chains, pleaded mini-skirts, mesh, leg warmers, neon tights, bangles, hoop earrings, plastic jewelry, pumps, fishnet, zips, thick stripes, rocker tees, studded belts and bracelets.
Athletic: Jogging pants, boxing boots, Pumas, hoodies, wrist bands, velour ensembles, motorcycle collars, high top sneakers, track jackets.
Shoes and accessories: Leather clutch purses, chandelier earrings, belts, link bracelets, fishnet nylons, open-finger gloves, parka jackets, denim, leather, sheepskin coats, skull caps, cuffs bracelets, thick band watches, plaid, boy short underwear, flat shoes, polka dots.
Hot colors of 2003: Any shade of army, pink and brown, orange, turquoise, neon, and the classic black, hot pink.
