A kitsch bar that is located near Parc Lafontain, a park whose beauty is matched only by Lafontain himself. The bar’s name, Mhotel, refers to a theme that the management wishes his clients to be subjected to: a motel/hotel room. Your first step into this place, you’ll feel that the décor doesn’t resemble anything close to a motel room, especially with the well stocked bar, as opposed to a mini-fridge-bar, and the DJ booth, as opposed to no DJ booth. As you further investigate the perimeter, it seems less and less convinced that this is a motel/hotel room because you kept on bumping into beautiful women and well dressed yuppies enjoying their after work hour drinks (happy hour).

But then it hits you. You see the cheesy polyester drapes, air conditioners, velour covered ceiling, and cheap furniture. When you piece it all together, you realize that you are standing in a motel/hotel room with hundreds of other people. “Let the good times role”, I said.

The music is 70s, 80s, 90s, and Top 40. The liquor is nicely priced, and the patrons start rolling in after 5PM and don’t leave until closing (on most nights). The crowd is very mixed, which makes for nice collective conversations and easy flirting. So as I was making my way through the plethora of people, I passed by this gentlemen in a white collared shirt (with a stick in his ass, I could imagine) holding two pint glasses filled with a brown and blonde beer. So I presented him with a question, “My fellow 9-to-5er, why drink two pints with different flavors at once?” “I am trying to remove the stick out of my ass, you know, working as a marketer isn’t the most relaxing job.”

I like retorts like that, which why we like this place. Catch you on the flip side, dude!
