Fantasia This uniquely wacky film festival is still going on till the 10th of August. As one of Montreal’s youngest festivals, Fantasia has been attracting an increasing number of visitors each year since its inception in 1996. Kalm-Munity
And if these commercial venues are not for you, you can always head north - north to Little Italy to live the Kalm-Munity experience. Because as the sun sets on the neighborhood, something of a phenomenon is developing on every Tuesday nights at Sablo Kafé (50 Saint Zotique E.). A plethora of artists of various backgrounds come together in what has come to be known to the regulars as Kalm-munity. Under the dim lights and laid back atmosphere of the Kafé the audience is treated to a few hours of poetry, spoken word and singing by the group Arch of Infinity and their weekly guests. In this dog-eat-dog world of cubicle incarceration, Kalm-munity offers a refreshing and oftneeded break. The talented young artists do their best to keep you in their mist of relaxation. And people have come flocking - the little Café is packed to the brim on every Tuesday. The show starts at 8pm, but get there early and enjoy the drinks and great food.
