Boxing Day damage in front of The Bay
COMMENT | EMAIL | Bookmark and Share

There isn’t that many days in the year when you’re allowed to punch people on St-Catherine, or when you’re actually rich enough to shop at BCBG. No, I am not talking about St-Patrick’s days and its riots; I am talking about the madness that engulfed Montreal yesterday, Boxing Day.

After spending everything you have on Christmas gifts, you’re officially allowed to max-out your credit card for no apparent reason apart from the fact that every store has slashed all priced to a max and is trying to sell you all the garbage they couldn’t get rid off the reminding of the year.

But that’s usually good enough justification to make you ditch your boyfriend/girlfriend and spend in a day what you earn in at least two weeks.

It’s like an opiating madness, it’s a generalized psychosis, it’s a massive shopping ecstasy and it’s scary. We’ll spare you the danger of going totally nuts, and send you directly to the boutiques you need to go.

BCBG MaxAzria (1300 St-Catherine West)
Max must have gotten hit over the head, because everything at his boutique is 50% off. It’s a little known fact, but the first international location for BCBG was in Montreal; that was 1995. I guess the referendum didn’t scare Max. Seize this Boxing Day opportunity to dress like a bourgeois; this might be the last chance you have for shopping at BCBG until next year.

TerraNostra (677 St-Catherine West)
If you are of the masculine sex, then you should’ve gone to TerraNostra, no doubt about it. Their boutique on St-Catherine is really nice and big and you can usually find me there every Boxing Day, shopping for the dazzling clothes that I will wear all year long and make you loose control.

HMV (1020 St-Catherine West)
Paying for music does suck, but I found Use Your Illusion for 6$ only, no joke.

Les Ailes De La Mode (677 St-Catherine West )
Les Ailes is already pretty affordable, but on Boxing Day, it’s just a killing. You can get really stylish shirts for almost nothing, taking care of your work-clothes problem for the entire year.

Addition Elle + (724 St-Catherine West )
BCBG is stupid for not hitting the chubby chick market, cause they are a large chunk of the population and they are also desperately looking for places to squander their money, just like all the starved chicks out there. Everything is 30% off there.

La Maison Simons (977 St-Catherine West)
Simons has tons of selection and usually descent prices, but on Boxing Day it gets even more affordable. Get ready to face the crowd (cause its pretty damn massive) and enter this nice three floor shopping paradise that was central to the revival of our favourite shopping and strip avenue, St-Catherine street.

As Boxing Day has actually transformed into Boxing Week, you still have time to go around and spend all your money. Have fun and see you at the office slaving off to pay those credit card debts next year.
