2010 greatness in Montreal
It's not obvious to review a year of nightlife, music, shows and cultural event in Montreal. Especially when you've missed most of everything that has happened in the city because you've been too busy nursing head-splitting hangovers.
Still, this won't prevent us from trying. Here we go.
2010 was like any other regular Montreal nightlife years: lots of places died and closed and lots of new nightlife joints took their place. Our highlight discoveries of the year has got to be Le Salon Officiel a small unassuming bar which still rocks a happening dance floor. As for new bars being opened this year, there has been many which we didn't write about (please post a comment on any of them bellow, and we will review them). However, the one opening we noticed was the new Ile Noire which is not located in a quite impressive location directly on St-Denis street, and if it wasn't for the bad service, we would be spending much more time there.
As for NYE parties, we have published our traditional new years party listings, where you can buy tickets directly online from ClubZone.com. So if you still haven't finalized your new years eve party plans, now is the perfect time.
Music and culture in general
There were a lot of good shows in Montreal this year, like M.I.A, Broken Social Scene and Kruder & Dorfmeister. We also had two really really big festivals in town, the now traditional Osheaga and the newly-come Heavy Mtl.
And lets not forget the Piknic Electronik which has pretty much become a fixture of Montreal's summers, kind of the commercial version of the Tam Tams on the Mont-Royal.
To end, let's not forget the amazing playoffs performance that Halak and the Canadiens gave us last hockey season, too bad Halak is no longer with the team, but who knows, 2011 might be a good hockey year too.
On the CFL side, the Montreal Alouettes won the Grey Cup, for a second season in a row, cementing the Alouettes place in the pages of recent CFL history.
Yes, we know this is a pretty meagre review of the year, but that's all we have time for in between two snowboard runs on the slopes of our favourite mountain in the Eastern Townships. We all deserve a vacation, and even though our vacation at Montreal-Clubs.com is year long, we don't want to interrupt it now.
It's your turn now. So speak-up.
