It doesn't matter that they've changed the spelling, Pinq Taco is just a weird name for a bar. Even strip-clubs wouldn't use such a name. It's quite surprising to see it on a bar, especially one that used to be called Lodge.
Talking about Lodge, the surprising thing when you penetrate the Pinq Taco (wow, that was too easy), is too see how different it looks from what The Lodge used to be. The space has only one bar now, which opens-up more space for the patrons to chill and dance.
The design of the Taco (!!!) is interesting and even somewhat original (aren't all Pinq Taco's original?). Blown-up prints of old postage stamps are hanging on the walls, gently flattering the geek-fibber of the once-upon-a-time stamp collector that I used to be.
The speciality of Pinq Taco is not tacos, as you could've possible been led to believe. It is tequila, which at least ties-in a little with the weird name. The message is clear, get plastered on tequila and the pinq taco might smile onto you.
I can say what I want about the weirdness of the bar's name, the fact is that it's a pleasant place to chill-out at. Especially on Thursdays, which is ladies night (girls drink for free) with all the positive consequences that such nights might hold.
