Reservoir, real name Bistro Le Reservoir, is yet another successful bar born and bread in the "make your own beer" tradition, and that’s a tradition I respect and like a lot. Just like Dieu du Ciel, Reservoir brews its own beers, and there is no where else in the world where you can enjoy them (at least that I know of).
And just like most of its peers, Reservoir serves food, but has pushed the food concept a tad further, by also offering a full-fledged brunch on the week-ends. I am sure that the opportunity to eat a large breakfast and enjoy a beer at noon will thrill the German in you.
Located in a two stories building on Duluth, right next to the corner with St-Laurent, the real pearl that Reservoir has to offer is its small roof-top terrasse, perfect for enjoying a beer after having spent the day at the Tam-Tams on the mountain.
But don’t try to pick-up there, as a friend of mine learned the hard way. An older crowd, a chill atmosphere and the soothing drinks don’t really encourage the cross table hook-ups; instead go with a group of friends and enjoy the company in a nice atmosphere with a tasty independent beer in your glass.
